Product description

Inspired by Attar’s timeless Conference of the Birds, this miniature gathers creation beneath the branches of a pomegranate tree: a tree of knowledge, longing, and bursting hidden sweetness. Though a royal peacock dominates the center, his tail shimmering like a night sky stitched in sapphire, the true guides of the tale are the birds above him.

In Attar’s parable, the birds of the world gather to seek their King, each embodying a human flaw or longing. Only the hoopoe — the hudhud-- remembered as the wise wanderer of deserts, knows the truth: that the journey to the Divine leads inward, and that God is found not in distant places but in the purified heart. The hoopoes flying overhead here echo that reminder, circling like emissaries of insight.

The peacock below, adorned yet earthbound, represents the seeker still distracted by beauty and regret, while the tree flourishes with pomegranates; seeds of unity waiting to be understood. This piece offers a gentle invitation to that same inner migration, reminding us that enlightenment is less a destination and more a returning; in other words a rediscovery of what was always within reach.

Original miniature portrait (Origin: Bukhara), framed in double-glass frames (front and back viewable) to preserve both pigment and light. Dimensions: 44 cm x 36 cm.
