Product description

In this reimagining, Scheherazade is no longer bound to the palace nor to the thousand nights she once spun for her survival. Instead, she rides calmly atop a Chouqduff  the Silk Road litter that once carried wanderers between cities, kingdoms, and unseen worlds. Her scrolls and secrets travel with her, tucked beside her like loyal companions. Around her, the caravan hums with merchants, musicians, and beasts of burden, each absorbed in their own small journeys. None recognize that the veiled woman in the canopy is the teller of tales who once held a king in the palm of her voice. Here, Scheherazade does not flee; she transcends, walking out of a court built on fear and into a world vast enough to hold every story she has yet to dream.

For stories themselves are travelers, and a Chouqduff is more than transport: it is a vessel between realities, carrying its passenger across deserts of sand and deserts of imagination alike. In this portrait, Scheherazade journeys not as a captive saved by her words but as a sovereign of her own narrative, a woman whose tales no longer serve as armor but as wings. Under the crescent's watchful glow, she moves forward into a world wide enough to hold every story she has yet to tell.

Original miniature portrait (Origin: Bukhara), framed in double-glass frames (front and back viewable) to preserve both pigment and light. Dimensions: 30 cm x 44 cm.
